Australian Escape Route

While I love Australia, I must leave eventually for 2 reasons.

  1. I can only stay 90 days on my Visa.
  2. They are tearing my house down in May.

I was planning on going straight form Melbourne to Sweden at the end of April to start my spring Euro trip.  However, a plane ticket was $1,150.  I figured I could probably piece something together so I can check out other spots on the way for the same price.  I’ll be flying out of Melbourne on the 29th of April, and visiting the following places:

  • 1 Week in Bali (Indonesia)
  • 3 days in Singapore (that’s a country)
  • 10 days in Thailand
  • Then off to Sweden.

Those 4 flights combined only total $950.  So I’m seeing way more for way less.

Damn, I’m jealous, I want to go to Indo! You should try to get up to Chaing Mai in Thailand…Bangkok gets old after a few days. Also, I know a guy in Singapore who will show you a good time…let me know if you want me to connect you to him.

Nice blog…enjoyed the description of your trip(s). Had googled Tom’s adventure, and your site came up. My friend’s name is Tom and he was told to get out of his routine and go on an adventure that he has always dreamed about. Unfortunately, he has never dreamed of one, ha! He will be 64 years old this week and has worked his butt off for years at a local utility company. He is comfortable with routine and can’t sit still and had trouble sleeping so will go to work at 3AM and work til 5PM. So, on a whim to help him I just googled Tom’s adventure to see what popped up to give him some ideas and there was your’s!!!! He is an engineer and a intellectual. So I read him your blog and he seemed to enjoy hearing the details of your trip. We enjoyed living vicariously through you briefly. Thank you for the interesting details of you shared about your travels and the adventures of your life. God’s speed.

    Here’s a technical question:

What do they call a Local Area Network in Australia?

    A LAN down under.
